The Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in the city of Srirangam has been one of the largest religious complexes in the world for thousands of years. A Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Ranganatha, a reclining form of Lord Vishnu (the supreme God for a branch of Hinduism), this image shows pilgrims in front of one of the twentyone elaborately decorated gates of this temple.
