A cornucopia of exotic fruits from the Malaysian peninsula, in various states of consumption, surround an empty bottle of 1880 Weisslack champagne. The German photographer G. R. Lambert took this image in his studio in Singapore around 1880 after he took the image Still Life I – Before (Ref SK06685). Presumably sold as a set, the two images convey a sense of the before and after (or maybe more appropriately the during) of a festive social gathering.
