From the 1870s until the 1920s, the French photographer Jean Giletta captured life in the French Riviera through photographs, with over 8000 images of the landscape and towns of the region to his credit. Te photograph shown here, of a large sailing boat with a number of smaller ones in the background, is one of his rare seascapes.
