Rising to a height of over 3700m, Mt Fuji, the highest point in the Land of the Rising Sun, has long been a part of Japanese art and culture. This hand colored image, Attributed to the Italian photographer Adolfo Farsari, was taken from Tagonoura Harbor and provides a northern view of the mountain that has been called the spiritual epicenter of the nation.
