Respected for their ancestral knowledge, oral traditions and spiritual values, the indigenous peoples of Australia have been communing with the land for thousands of years. This tie to the earth is founded on their belief system (called The Dreaming) that espouses that The Great Ancestral Spirits created all the peoples, animals and plants of the earth. In this photograph, a group of tribesmen have prepared themselves for one of the ceremonies paying homage to The Great Ancestral Spirits of The Dreaming.
