attributed to Hippolyte Arnoux

Te French photographer Hippolyte Arnoux ran a studio based in Port Said, Egypt in the 1860s and 1870s. He is best remembered for his work documenting the building of the Suez Canal, but he also took a number of wonderful views of the ancient monuments of Egypt including photographs such as the one presented here of a camel caravan on the Giza Plateau with the three great pyramids (Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure) fading into the distance.
